Maths test us on that most universal of skills – problem solving. Ironically, for many of us, this can be quite a problematic area. Nothing helps students to get the hang of mathematic processes more than simple repetition, and tuition in addition to mainstream schooling gives students extra time to make perfect with practice, until the problem is solved. We’ve found that as soon as maths starts to click for student, every part of it starts to get much easier, so we’re determined to keep working at it until that moment comes.
There is an enormous push at the moment for more young people to find their careers in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering). These competitive fields require specialized undergraduate degrees, which in turn demand a solid foundation of both knowledge and academic achievement in Maths at A-Level, GCSE, and earlier. A-Education can give your child the leg up in Maths they need to open the door to these highly respected career opportunities.
Many of our tutors have training and experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as dyspraxia, which can affect skills with calculations and logic. If your child has struggled with a condition of this kind that is impacting their achievement in Maths, please don’t hesitate to let us know, and we will do everything we can to provide them with the care and resources they need to succeed.
Our classes span from Year 1 to Year 13, so whether your child is working on basic counting and arithmetic, or they’re mastering quadratics and logarithmic scales, we can lend a hand.
